Nephthys (Nehf-this) was the mother of Anubis and wife of Set. Egyptians worshiped her as the Goddess of The Dead. Ancient peoples also associated her with mourning, the night, darkness, protection, magic, and health. She also went by the name “Themis (Theh-mis)” the titaness of Law and Order. She was traditionally considered a minor threat compared to Set and Tefnut. Anubis was her son through an illicit affair she had with Set’s twin brother Osiris. It was unclear if she knew about Set’s relationship with Rhea while she was giving birth to the Olympians. Following Set’s death, she took command of the Titan forces.

Dawn of Fabella

Nephthys was a minor villain in Dawn of Fabella. She was largely referred to as an ally of Set due to their relationship as husband and wife. Anubis learned previous to these events that he was the product of an illicit affair Nephthys had with Set’s twin brother Osiris. Set learned the truth and flew into a rage, killing Osiris. Nephthys was named as one of the Titans allied under Set to invade Fabella. She survived the events of the book and fled with the remaining Titans back to their homebase of Punt.

Mythology

Nephthys or Nebet-Het in ancient Egyptian (GreekΝέφθυς) was a goddess in ancient Egyptian religion. A member of the Great Ennead of Heliopolis in Egyptian mythology, she was a daughter of Nut and Geb. Nephthys was typically paired with her sister Isis in funerary rites[1] because of their role as protectors of the mummy and the god Osiris and as the sister-wife of Set.

Themis (/ˈθmɪs/Ancient Greek: Θέμις) is an ancient Greek Titaness. She is described as “[the Lady] of good counsel”, and is the personification of divine order, fairness, law, natural law, and custom. Her symbols are the Scales of Justice, tools used to remain balanced and pragmatic. Themis means “divine law” rather than human ordinance, literally “that which is put in place”, from the Greek verb títhēmi (τίθημι), meaning “to put”.
