Malum (mahl-uhm)

Statistics

Status: Negative God

Malum was the Dark God or “Evil God” of Fabella. If you could assign a spirit to hell which epitomized the extreme suffering associated with the universe of eternal damnation, it would be Malum. His only purpose was to insight utter chaos wherever he went. Nobody was immune to his special brand of cunning torture. He moved through the multiverse for eons, creating universe after universe. Posing as the Greatfather of Gobekli Tepe, Malum essentially forced Lukis to create in an evil ploy to exact revenge on his arch enemy; Hagios. In Malum’s eyes, Fabella was not meant to be anything other than a tool to hurt Hagios where it mattered most. Instead, Malum found himself doing battle in an unpredictable world against a force for good who was not easily defeated.

Short Story

Light of Fabella

Malum was the main antagonist of Light of Fabella. Here he posed as the “Greatfather” of Gobekli Tepe, using it to find someone suitable to serve as the good god of a new universe. He eventually found this in Lukis. Using Lukis to create Fabella, Malum sped back to Earth to destroy the planet. The one thing he didn’t count on was Lukis being strong enough to overcome him.

Appearance

As a negative spiritual force, Malum had no sex but primarily favored the male gender. While in a spiritual form, Malum appeared as a dark blue cloud of smoke. This was in keeping with the form all negative forces assumed. During the night, when Malum was in control of Fabella, the world was blanketed by colorful aurora and an ominous infinite field of darkness. Though Malum could assume any physical form, peeling skin and dark blue eyes were always present. After becoming the negative god of Fabella, Malum’s eyes were always dark blue. A hooded cloak of dark blue and black draped over Malum’s body. This cloak was only seen on him during times when he was announcing his identity as a god and not posing as anyone. The same style, only in different colors, was worn by all negative spirits.

Objectives

Total and complete domination of the multiverse was always Malum’s main goal. He was evil incarnate. Destroying absolutely everything and anyone standing in his path of destruction, reducing every single universe to ashes. Only Hagios and Lukis could stand up to his cunning brand of chaos. He was not someone to take lightly. Fabella had its fair share of villains, but all hate and evil in the world could be traced directly back to Malum.

Earth

Orenda was the only universe to date that Malum spared from complete devastation. Hagios was simply more powerful and dedicated than he bargained for. The planet Earth became Malum’s main target because he believed it to be Hagios’ favorite. Earth was the main stage where the fight for control over Orenda occurred. Malum decided to abandon Orenda with the goal of using giant spiders to destroy Earth. He ultimately accomplished this goal, but Hagios–in the ultimate display of godly power–remade Earth. Orenda and by extension Earth remained a nasty scar on Malum’s otherwise pristine record of destruction.

Social

“The only order is disorder,” this was the creed that Malum lived by. He was constantly trying to recruit characters to the dark side in an attempt to prove to Lukis who held control of Fabella. His presence was extremely noticeable in times of great suffering and hardship. Often harsh, bitter, and hateful, he was only ever polite when tricking someone to meet his own desires. He didn’t care much for anyone and got much enjoyment from personal suffering.

Malum was a thinker, he liked to take out a few bricks before bringing the whole house crashing down. Plans often unfolded in a very strategic manner. Savoring the effect of chaos on the world brought him immense satisfaction. He was not content attacking those who already embraced evil, and mainly focused his attention on corrupting those who led righteous lives. This was one of the reasons he didn’t often speak to Emit, because corrupting the immortal faun would be–in his words– “Too easy.” He enjoyed the fight and started entire wars out of sheer boredom.

 Known Forms and Aliases

“Greatfather Malum”

This was the human form of Malum that we were first introduced to. He was the cruel dominating chieftain of Gobekli Tepe. The entire civilization was only there for him to find the next positive god, whom he eventually found in Lukis.

Trivia

  • Has the second longest period of characterization next to Lucis. Malum started out as a woman but morphed into the form of a neanderthal.
