Ghoul (gool)

Ghoul

Ghouls were semi-aquatic creatures mostly found in caverns. Their ability to swim and hold their breath underwater for long periods of time helped them navigate through the winding passageways of deep dark caves. Nocturnal by nature, their skin was extremely pale due to their lack of exposure to the sun. Adhesive pads on their feet and fingers enabled them to climb on the uneven rock walls and it wasn’t unusual for them to sleep hanging upside down. Scientists had long been fascinated with the studies of ghoul language, believing it to be a sign of their high cognitive ability. To test this hypothesis, scientists attempted to teach ghouls sign language and puzzle solving skills. These tests were a success to the point that ghouls mastering these abilities were allowed to hold simple jobs like delivery couriers, newspaper delivery, and moving services.
