Biloko (bil-oh-koh)

Biloko

Biloko were aquatic primates. They could grow to be 120 cm (47 in) and weigh 40 kg (88 lb). All bilokos had long, dog-like muzzles, heavy, powerful jaws with sharp canine teeth, close-set eyes, thick fur except on their muzzles, short tails, and rough spots on their protruding buttocks, called ischial callosities. These calluses were nerveless, hairless pads of skin that provide for the sitting comfort of the biloko. All biloko species exhibited pronounced sexual dimorphism, usually in size, but also sometimes in color or canine development. Their diets were omnivorous, but mostly herbivorous, yet they ate insects and occasionally preyed on fish, trout and salmon if available, shellfish, birds, and small deer. They were foragers and were active at irregular times throughout the day and night.
