Amphisbaena (ahm-fis-bae-nah)

Amphisbaena

Amphisbaenas (Am-fis-bay-nah) were a race of two headed snakes. They had no reproductive organs to speak of and were all understood to be asexual. Without any ability to pass waste, all food in their strict carnivorous diet got completely broken down and absorbed into the bloodstream. This biological trait was studied extensively by scientists hoping to manufacture weight loss supplements to give people the same ability with poor results. An egg was present in every amphisbaena from birth. One the snake heads simply spit the egg out when it was big enough to be outside the body. After a gestation period of about 8 weeks, a new amphisbaena hatched.
